A DAY IN THE DIARY – LISA FRANKLIN
This Father’s Day, we have partnered with award-winning celebrity facialist and skincare expert Lisa Franklin. Just like Noble Macmillan, Lisa has her roots firmly planted in Kensington & Chelsea: after years in Sloane Street, Lisa is about to expand and re-open her luxurious clinic privé in a new location in the borough. Combining cutting edge green technology and her unparalleled knowledge in plant actives, Lisa Franklin’s skincare range and treatments offer her signature glow to skin and help reduce the visible signs of ageing.
The Lisa Franklin Pro-Effect For Men skincare range is formulated specifically for men’s particular skin conditions and targets key concerns, such as: skin sensitivity and irritation from shaving, excess sebum, dry skin and the negative effect from exposure to electromagnetic radiation from long periods of time.
Lisa has kindly offered Noble Macmillan 15% off their first Lisa Franklin purchase: use code NOBLE15 at checkout at www.lisafranklin.london.
Here, she shares what her daily diary looks like as a resident and brand founder in our neighbourhood.
I get up early around 6 and the first thing I do is my morning skincare routine. I then check my emails and eat a healthy breakfast – I have an Acai bowl most mornings which I either prepare myself or C-press.
Maintaining a consistent workout routine is a must for me, and pre-lockdown I would see my personal trainer or take a one to one pilates session at Clo&Flo. I am still dedicating this time of the day to exercise with one to one yoga sessions with my stepmother, who is a fabulous yoga teacher.
Pre-lockdown, this is the time I would go to the clinic. One of the things I am looking forward to the most for life post-lockdown is the daily interaction with my clients and team at my clinic! We have been incredibly busy with new launches coming up in my skincare range and we are about to open in a new location, so my workdays are incredibly varied at the moment. I am in and out of Zoom meetings with our different teams throughout the day – deciding on interiors for the new clinic with our design team, discussing new ingredients and formulation updates with our lab and debating partnerships with our PR & Marketing team. One thing is for sure – no day is ever the same and I love the fact that, as a brand founder, I can channel my creative ideas towards different aspects of my brand.
Nutrition is one of the things I am most passionate about, and I like my meals to be super healthy to support me and my busy daily schedule. Most days I have a variation of a buddha bowl – either from Raw-Press, or Squirrel I always make sure to take my probiotics to maintain optimal gut health – my favourite is by The Nue Co, which I always stockpile and helps stabilise my gut microbiota.
If I have time, I like to pick up some flowers on the way home – Petals at Bibendum always has beautiful ones, and I have been ordering from Bloom & Wild too.
One of my favourite things to do is go out for dinner and I can’t wait for my favourite restaurants, such as La Famiglia, to reopen – dinner followed by cocktails at Blakes is a great evening. At home, I like to relax with a glass of wine – Gusbourne Wines are excellent – and an inspiring book: I love Assouline’s , they have been helping my mind to travel whilst we can’t fly anywhere!
At the end of a long day, I always take the time for my night time skincare routine. I start with a thorough cleanse: for healthy, glowy skin, cleansing is the single most important thing we should all do on a daily basis. It removes the daily dirt and grime we come into contact with throughout the day, but also bad bacteria which can cause inflammation, resulting in problematic skin conditions. Next, I exfoliate and apply one of my serums depending on what my skin is needing most on that day. I always finish with a facial massage using a Rose Quartz facial roller – it not only makes skin more radiant and toned, this crystal brings me an immediate sense of peace and calm: the perfect energy to tap into at the end a busy day.
