Sasha Compton X Noble Macmillan IWD Journals

In celebration of International Women’s Day on Monday 8th March, we have collaborated with British artist, Sasha Compton to produce our two beautiful new journals and will be giving 15% of the profits to UK charity, Smart Works (minimum £5 per book sold).
For over a century now, the International Women’s Day (IWD) has praised the achievements of women around the world, wishing to increase their visibility, whilst highlighting inequality. It is a collective effort to shine a light on women everywhere and something Noble Macmillan is actively supporting. To contribute to the effort, we chose to give a percentage of our profits to the amazing charity, Smart Works.
Smart Works is a UK based charity which provides high quality interview clothes and interview training to unemployed women in need. This service helps to give women the confidence and practical skills needed to succeed in interviews. In 2020, the charity celebrated its most successful year yet, supporting over 4000 women – 65% of whom successfully obtained their job post-interview.
The extremely talented Sasha Compton, whose colourful and feminine work focuses on ‘positive imperfections’ was of course the perfect addition to this collective effort. The expressive techniques used in her mixed media artwork show liberated female figures and positive natural environments – a combination that perfectly cultivates our shared aim of promoting women. Following some difficult decision-making, we settled on Sasha’s pieces, ‘Female Dancer’ and, ‘Every Pair is Perfect’, which we later determined would feature on the cover and the lining of the two books. Photographed below are the exciting journals that are a result of our collaboration.
