Showing Appreciation this Father's Day
With Father's Day soon approaching, we thought it was time for us at Noble Macmillan to acknowledge everything our Dad's have done for us and to share our favourite memories with them.
Warren decided it was the time him and his father visited Old Trafford, saying:
"I was 14 and we went to our first game at Old Trafford to watch Manchester United play, we beat Ipswich 9-0. Obviously, it made me so happy to see United for the first time but seeing my Dad so happy was what made it so special for me.
We had seen Old Trafford so many times on the TV and I remember walking up into the stadium and just looking around in awe. We didn’t need to say anything, but we shared a look with each other and I know we were both thinking the same thing. “This is amazing” and then we won 9-0. Brilliant, what a day!"
Anna reflected on more of a life event that happened with her dad:
"One of my favourite memories with my dad is driving from Birmingham all the way up to Edinburgh and back in one day to pick up our new puppy. We set off early, fuelled by coffee, and spent the whole journey talking and singing. By the time we reached Edinburgh, we were both so excited about meeting him for the first time. He was this tiny, clumsy bundle of energy, we fell in love with him straight away.
We didn’t stay long before starting the long drive back, this time with a sleepy puppy between us in the car. The return journey felt surreal but special, and it started to sink in that he was really ours. By the time we got home, we were exhausted from the long day but so happy."
I think one of my favourite memories with my dad has to be the time we played frisbee in a nearby park and kicked a ball around together when I was 12. Him laughing at how bad my throwing skills were (not much improvement since then), and guiding me on how to evade the opposition, shaped my formative years and taught me the importance of learning new skills. I lost the frisbee in a tree that day, and the compassion and patience he showed afterwards will forever teach me how to treat others with the same courtesy.
This Father's Day let's show them how much they mean to us and share a memory, a gift or some quality time, to tell them how much their lessons and love have meant to us.
Best wishes,
Daniella
