The Purling Stone Chess Set is meticulously crafted in Italy from alabaster, a natural mineral prized for its durability, tactile quality, and ability to be finely carved. Each set is truly unique, with alabaster’s translucent properties and natural veining creating subtle variations of colour and texture.
Every chess piece is machined from solid alabaster, dyed over several days to achieve rich depth of colour, then carefully polished and lacquered to produce a refined lustre. Comfortingly weighty, each piece is completed with a soft Italian Nappa leather base felt, embossed with the Purling logo in 18-carat gold.
The pieces are paired with a solid alabaster chess board, its polished surface showcasing naturally occurring veining and crystalline detail. Together, they create a striking balance of artistry, elegance, and timeless design.
Each set is presented in Purling premium branded packaging, ensuring both protection and a beautiful display.
