The Bold Chess Set in Flock and Cinnabar brings together classic Staunton-inspired design with striking contemporary artistry. Each piece is hand-turned and hand-carved, showcasing Purling’s signature Knight design for a distinctive, modern edge.

Our luxury hardwood chess pieces are crafted in London and hand painted to exacting standards. Every piece undergoes a meticulous six-stage process: two layers of primer, two coats of high-gloss paint, and two coats of crystal-clear lacquer, resulting in a deep, durable, and mirror-like finish.

A 0.75 mm layer of fine flocking enhances the surface of each piece, creating a tactile texture that balances elegance with resilience.

Each piece is finished with an Italian Napa leather base felt, embossed with the Purling logo in 18-carat gold, and every set includes four Queens for seamless pawn promotion.

The pieces are paired with a 44cm x 44cm Italian alabaster stone board, offering timeless sophistication and exceptional craftsmanship.
